A refined and aromatic white wine, a true expression of the ancient winemaking traditions of the Island of Ischia.
The Vigna del Lume Biancolella DOC white wine is an outstanding example of Biancolella DOC, produced on the enchanting Island of Ischia, specifically on the eastern side in Punta del Lume. This area, locally known as "o’ lummo", is renowned for its unique geographical features and a winemaking tradition that dates back centuries.
The grapes for Vigna del Lume are hand-harvested during the first ten days of October, allowing a slight over-ripening that gives the wine its characteristic floral aromas and notes of almost fully ripe fruit. After harvesting, the grapes are manually crushed and pressed inside ancient caves carved into the island’s volcanic tuff, where the must rests in cool conditions for 12 hours. It is then transported by sea to the winery in Campagnano for vinification.
Vigna del Lume stands out for its bright straw-yellow color and its fresh, delicate, slightly savory taste. It pairs beautifully with fish dishes such as sushi and baked fish, as well as fresh or lightly aged cheeses.
